i like bakeries, used book stores, sundresses and the phrase l'esprit d'escalier (un-translatable french for a clever remark said too late).

it's just me, the baby and the pup today.

it sure is quiet while they’re napping.

My dearest friend Colleen is a wonderfully creative and talented writer. I have been exploring using text in my photographs and could not think of a better person to turn to when my brain could not spit out one creative word. So, this, and many more to come are the collaborative work of Colleen’s beautiful modeling and writing skills and my documentation. I love Colleen, for many reasons. One of which being her trust in me when I photograph her (and her willingness to always be photographed!) Not many people would have the guts or trust to say yes to my ever growing crazy ideas, so here is to you my Colleen, for saying yes, and helping me create some of my favorite photographs all year.

yep! that’s me!
i love the photos that Teresa takes…and i think that these are some of her best yet. i was so honored when she asked me to use some of my poems and such! there are a million more beautiful shots to come!

go go go

i’m sitting in the living room of the home i’m nannying in this summer—big open space and lots of windows. their seven month old baby just threw up on my pant leg…no biggie. the other two girls are still sleeping (apparently they played barbie too long last night). some weird show called baby einstien is playing…distracting baby. the few quiet moments of my days. but i’m skipping some things…i’ll start from the beginning:

i got a 4.0 this quarter! first time in a while. i’ll need to get htose for the rest of my college career to get into grad school…

joe and i drove to grants pass for a wedding—the beautiful miss karyn elise’s wedding. i was one of the bridesmaids so i got to go white river rafting with her and the other ladies in the wedding! joe and i stayed in a yurt. the weather was beautiful, and our campsite was right by the river. at night we would skip rocks and watch osprey hunt for fish. karyn’s farm was the most beautiful thing EVER: it made me want to grow organically and own a millin dogs and cats and chickens that roam around a cozy little house. it was nice to get away from bellingham.

we drove back on sunday, fell into bed exhausted around 11. then i starte work at 8 am and entered into the world of children…it was like a swift kick in the ass. but they’re adorable and i needed it; i need the schedule and routine back into my life.

i’m starting yoga classes next week and am going to try to get up extra early twice a week to run before i give my days to three adorable little girls.

my parents are coming up to see me tomorrow and hang out. i can’t wait.

micheal jackson AND farrah fawcett died yeasterday. we went downtown to watch a commerative performance of thriller last night…kinda lame (the music wasn’t loud enough and i couldn’t see a thing) so joe and i left and got some grub.

last night i got my CPR certificate and can now save anyone’s life.

i am so tirrrrrrred.

these past few days

I ate the yummiest breakfast at Harris Ave. Cafe this morning (oatmeal with walnuts, blueberries and brown sugar, organic yogurt with honey) while sitting across from the lovely Mr. Joseph. My parents came up yesterday and we had a good talk and some laughs while drinking coffee and enjoying crepes from the Mount Bakery. We celebrated a friend’s 21st birthday; spent the night at another friend’s cabin in Granite Falls. I got a blackberry, finished John Steinbeck’s The Red Pony and ordered a sweet little black steyr bicycle with a basket on the front from The Hub. The sun has finally fully come out and I feel content.

i went to granite falls this past weekend. we played bocchi ball, sat around the fire and hung out in a house right next to a little swamp with lots of windows and a nice high ceiling.
